Digital Document Archiving

Nearly every small medical practice struggles with the mountain of old archived charts. If you are running out of space to store these, or worse paying over $100/month for remote storage, why not convert them from paper into digital documents.

You may have heard that it’s too costly. It doesn't have to be.

We’ve observed that archiving old charts can become a shockingly expensive venture when you get sold on the idea of installing a sophisticated ‘fully automated document management’ system.  If you are a multi-doctor practice, with branch offices, yes, the return-on-investment on a 5-figure investment will still make it worthwhile.

However, we being IT specialists for small medical practices, would like to propose a simple solution to archive your old charts and, going forward, set up your office with a simple digital document management system.

3 good reasons to go digital:

1. HIPAA compliance will require that all practices have digital charts and a digital document management system.
2. Efficiency. Digital charts can be opened in 30 seconds while a paper chart must be found, retrieved, delivered, then re-filed. This process can take up to 7 minutes according to one survey.
3. Misplaced, lost paper charts will be a thing of the past.
